Cooperative learning activities engage students in higher-order thinking skills and shared thinking which enable students to gain a better understanding of the subject matter. Therefore, asking students to read assigned material cooperatively is more effective than individual reading. Furthermore, the experience of working cooperatively with others results in increased motivation. However, one of the problems of implementing cooperative learning is that students are not usually accustomed to working together. In fact, without receiving training on how to work cooperatively the students may continue the competitive or individualistic efforts while being a member of a group. The current-research based book intended to investigate the effects of cooperative learning strategy training on reading comprehension and motivation of the readers.
