Opis

After the success of his version of "Schiller's Don Carlos", starring Derek Jacobi, which played to sold-out houses on the West End and Broadway, Mike Poulton turns to Schiller's other great tragic hero. Wallenstein was commander-in-chief of the Hapsburg army during the Thirty Years War (1618-48), but his ambition brought him into fatal conflict with his monarch, the Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand II. The world premiere of this new version of "Wallenstein" at the Chichester Festival Theatre on 22 May 2009 stars Iain Glen, seen on BBC-TV as Anne Frank's father and on stage in "The Blue Room with Nicole Kidman".
