Prier sera toujours un signe de jeunesse : c'est espérer le meilleur. Plus l'âge avance, moins on a envie de laisser les images flottantes et les fantasmes angoissants prendre la place de Dieu. Moïse a eu peur ; saint Jean-Baptiste a tremblé ; saint Paul a balbutié. Et nous ? Ces géants ont fait leur la maxime de Jean-Paul II : " N'ayez pas peur ! " C'est au moment où l'on se trouve dans le brouillard, ou bien dans la joie, que Quelqu'un se découvre à nos côtés : II nous attend. Il a désarmé de tout. Il s'est fait pauvre. Il s'est agenouillé devant saint Pierre, et devant nous, pour nous dire : " C'est toi, ma créature, c'est toi qui comptes ", alors qu'impatient ou tremblant nous lui disions " Mais non, Seigneur, c'est Toi qui comptes. " Il reprend alors et, du haut de la croix, insiste : " Non, c'est toi, ma créature, tu es mon ami, c'est toi qui comptes. " Quel mystère d'amour et de réciprocité. C'est Dieu qui nous prie. Entendre ce message s'appelle : prier. Quel bonheur secret. Peut-être la seule certitude. Oui, " prier " : le seul espoir d'avoir laissé une cicatrice sur terre.
