Contemporary people living increasingly busy lives are often too hard-pressed to find time for regular prayer and the study of Scripture. These meditations are structured to help them do so. Solidly founded in Scripture, they lead us through the Bible and the liturgical year of the Church. Originally written by the Catholic Bishop Richard Challoner some two centuries ago, his meditations were widely adopted by the faithful. Now, inspired by daily use in his own prayer life, Stafford Whiteaker has updated and expanded them for Christians in this present age. Called into Light follows the modern Church calendar of solemnities and seasons.
