Databases in mobile telecommunications have become§more and more important due to growing data volumes.§ More efficient database solutions are needed to§support temporal and logical consistency. This book§presents a possible database architecture for the§growing data dilemma. It presents a database§architecture for IN and GSM data, and a performance§analysis toolbox for transaction-based software.§§Using the presented architecture as a test case, a§detailed queue model analysis is presented. The§result of the analysis is twofold. The most§important result is that even a complex§transaction-based system may be analyzed accurately§enough to get relevant and reasonable results with§the toolbox. Second, it appears that parallel§database architectures have a lot to offer in§high-volume data environments.
