Book synopsis

Up and down the Eastern Seaboard electric lights illuminate dark nights. Telephones are gathering popularity, and Teddy Roosevelt is soon to become President of the United States. In Los Angeles, a mixed group of real estate brokers, financial promoters, and politicians are organizing a land development company to build a desert resort consisting of a hot springs hotel and casino. The location they wish to construct this resort on is a simmering green oasis already settled by Mormon Farmers.
