Book synopsis
One of three pamphlets of award winning short stories published Grist Books, an anthology publisher supported by the University of Huddersfield.
Bradley is a fourteen-year-old school boy who escapes his troubled home life to visit his grandparents in Stevenage. On the train there, he is held hostage by a deluded gunman who thinks he is an escaped PoW from WWII and that Bradley is a member of the Hitler Youth. Now Bradley must try and escape using his mobile phone. William Thirsk-Gaskill''s novella is a gripping and beautifully told tale of innocence and experience.
William Thirsk-Gaskill has had short stories published by Grist, The Fiction Desk, and 5 Minute Fiction. He is also a poet. His one-man show, Throwing Mother In The Skip, appeared at the 2013 Ilkley Literature Festival. His work deals with delusion, betrayal, loss, and self-discovery. His twitter name is @wthirskgaskill.
