Book synopsis

In 1858, when Gracie Tipton left Nashville, Tennessee, on the long trail to The Pinery in the Guadalupe Mountains on the Texas and New Mexico border, she had no way of knowing how her life would change. Within two years, she was a wife, a widow, and expecting a child.

After coming to tell her of her husband, Jedidiah's death, her father-in-law, Hurricane Bailey, left in the dead of night, before Gracie could tell of his soon to be born grandchild. The Stockton's travel along with their children and cow-boys as they drive the herd from The Glory B to Abilene, Texas.
