Book synopsis

In Oshima, Japan, people are disappearing. Fishermen leave for work in the morning, never to return-their fishing ships are never seen again. There are rumors. Townspeople whisper of a monster in their midst. Is it possible? Could there really be a sea monster off the coast of Japan? Suspicious American oceanographers traverse the wide waters to investigate. Through careful scientific study and observation, the Americans realize the rumors are true.
