This work is suitable for solo piano. This piece uses some melodic, rhythmic and harmonic materials from the late piano music of Albeniz as a starting point. Erkoreka exaggerates or simplifies certain aspects of the tradition of Spanish piano music, offering a renewed and personal vision by treating very differently the same materials that Albeniz used. "Jaia" means 'fiesta' in Basque.
