Book synopsis
Inspired by the real people and disturbing events connected to Boleskine House in 1960.
In the Scottish Highlands, on the dark shores of Loch Ness, stands Boleskine House: an isolated manor built over the ruins of the accursed Boleskine Kirk, the site of seventeenth-century heresies, blasphemous resurrections, and a fire that transformed men and women into something no longer human.
Centuries later, Major Grant, a Second World War veteran haunted by hallucinations and the trauma of combat, moves into the house with his young wife Mary and their Irish housekeeper, Ann McLaren, unaware that beneath the manor a forbidden tunnel still exists-a stone intestine connecting the house to the old cemetery.
But Boleskine House is no ordinary haunted house.
Many years earlier, Aleister Crowley attempted the terrible Abramelin Operation there, summoning forces he was no longer able to control. Something remained trapped beneath the manor: demons, infernal princes, deformed shadows, and an open breach between different worlds.
