Nanoscale ferrites have generated an increasing amount of interest due to the modification that they can induce when they are dispersed into the matrix of a composite. The study of magnetic ferrite nanocomposites requires a multidisciplinary approach, involving novel synthesis techniques and an understanding of physics and surface science.  In some cases, high-level loss may be desired in applications such as heating and EM wave absorption. In most applications, such as power transformers and DC-DC converters, low-level loss is required to achieve a non-dispersive (frequency-independent) permeability spectrum with a high value. In this context, we find an increasing use of ferrite magnetic composite materials in these applications.
