"Look," she whispered, shining the spotlight around them. In every direction the powdery red soil rose and fell in zigzagging lines coming straight for them. They were only several meters away and fast-approaching.

Born to convict parents on Mars, Megan and her friends-known as the Wonder Kids-were evacuated to Earth during a prisoner rebellion ten years ago. Now fourteen, she is sent back as a pawn in a deadly mission to save the colony from an attack by killer robotic spiders and lure out the mysterious scientist who raised her.
