Book synopsis
The general population perceives the Millennial Generation (MG) as a generation of computer wizards. Subsequently, the introductory computer courses have been gradually removed from the curriculum in many higher education institutions. In reality, this generation faces certain degrees of difficulties in their academic areas relating to technology. This book, therefore, provides the findings of significant differences among ethnicity and gender in the information and communication technology (ICT) literacy levels and comfort levels with digital life environments (DLE) of MG before and after they took introductory computer courses. The findings also indicated that introductory computer courses do improve the ICT literacy levels of MG and their comfort levels with DLE in several sub-populations. This book could lead to improvements of ICT literacy levels and comfort levels with DLE as well as academic achievement across sub-populations. Moreover, it could be employed by educators as they evaluate the effectiveness and need for university curriculum design to achieve the learning for all missions of higher education.
