Book synopsis

In this title, a general matricial modeling of electrical machines is established. It uses instantaneous quantities and allows to take into account the associations of rotating machines and static converters (variable speed drives) easily. General equations of electromechanical energy conversion are established first and then applied to synchronous, induction, and DC machines. The characteristics are established as well for steady state behavior as for variable speed.§New applications (wind mills, electric propulsion of big ships) are shown and the book is illustrated by a large number of photographs kindly provided by various companies.
