Book synopsis
You know the modes. You can name them, you understand where they come from, and you have some patterns. What you probably don't have is Phrygian in Eb available anywhere on the fretboard without stopping to work it out - and that gap is where modal playing usually stalls.
There's no modal theory in this book. It's a practice guide: specific one- and two-octave approaches, worked vertically and horizontally, applied to all seven major scale modes in every key until each one is a complete picture of the neck rather than a set of positions with unmapped space between them.
Roughly three months of committed daily practice to get all seven modes fluent in all twelve keys. It's repetitive work and I won't pretend otherwise. It's also the only thing I've found that reliably closes the gap between understanding modes and using them.
Players comfortable with pentatonics who want to move into modal territory properly. Guitarists who've studied modes and can only reach them in one or two positions.
Book 2 of Scale Fluency. The approach matches the other volumes, so moving on to harmonic or melodic minor later doesn't mean starting over.
