In this comprehensive new book, the design of Portland Cement composition is explained using the ideas and formulae of earlier scientists. The author then goes on to discuss in detail the calculation of proportions of different cement phases formed during the processing of cement. Later chapters cover the process of cement manufacture by dry, semi-dry or wet processes, using rotary and shaft kilns. Particular attention is given to the physical changes that occur in the raw mix when affected by chemical processes.
