This book covers all the major aspects of various ocular inflammatory disease in lucid and detailed manner§§ Viral anterior uveitis - virus like HSV/VZV/CMV/ rubella has been recognized since long to cause anterior uveitis.§§ Serpiginous choroiditis - needs to be differentiated from serpiginous like choroiditis (SLC) which is most commonly associated with tuberculosis.§§ Toxoplasmosis - the most common cause for posterior uveitis. §§ Parasitic infections of the eye highly endemic in developing countries and are highly challenging to manage. §§ AIDS - in the HAART era can significantly reduce mortality and ocular morbidity. §§ Sarcoidosis - characterized by noncaseating granulomas affecting many organs including the eye. §§ Behcets disease - one of the most difficult forms of uveitis to be treated. §§ White dot syndromes -are inflammatory disorders with clinical features that share common presence of lesions at level of retina, retinal pigment epithelium, choriocapillaries and choroid. §§ Intraocular lymphoma -is a masquerading syndrome which is rare and highly malignant and often misdiagnosed as uveitis.§§ Immune recovery Uveitis- most common form of immune related inflammatory syndrome in HIV infected patients with CMV retinitis who are receiving HAART. §§· The chapter on imaging describes the various imaging modality that aid the clinician to clinch the diagnosis of uveitis has been enumerated in great detail.§§· Corticosteroids being the mainstay of therapy for uveitis in particular non- infectious uveitis. Its mechanism of action and various route of drug delivery have been discussed in detail.§§· Optimal use of various immunomodulators , their role, dose, mechanism of actions, side effect, investigation needed during follow up have been illustrated beautifully in the form of simplified tables.§· There are 2 separate chapters on complications in uveitis, one on glaucoma and other on choroidal neovascular membrane management in uveitis has been included.§§· The book incorporates a special form of uveitis i.e. paediatric uveitis.§§The ultimate goal of this book is to provide up-to date clinical overview of the major aspects of various form of uveitis for residents, fellows and ophthalmologists.§
