MALLORY CAMPBELL, a woman in her 50s, is a lottery winner. She rushes home to celebrate with her husband John, but overhears him on the phone. It's obviously his lover. Distraught and totally stunned by John's deceit with a woman she is close to, Mallory is faced with re-evaluating her life's path.

Sixteen months later Mallory, now a mid-life single, returns to where she grew up - Appletree Hill in country Victoria.
