Book synopsis
Airglow is the emission of photons from the atmospheric constituents (atoms or molecules) excited directly or indirectly by the electromagnetic radiation of the Sun. The various nightglow emissions (OI 630 nm, OI 557.7 nm, OI 777.4 nm, 589.3 nm, OH (7,2), OH (8,3), OH (6,2) and O2 Atmospheric (0,1) band emissions (862.0 nm - 865.9 nm)) would be monitored from the ground at Allahabad and Kolhapur (Indian institute of Geomagnetic centers for observations) during clear and moonless nights by ground-based high resolution airglow equipment (All-sky imager, tilting photometers and a scanning photometer) to study the dynamics of the F-region and the mesosphere during geomagnetically quiet and disturbed period. In book we present several topics that we hope is sufficient to proceed with our study of airglow. The chapter begins with introduction of airglow and a description of the limitations. we have given information of night airglow study. Data analysis methods and results. With this book I hope beginners may get idea how to analysis the data and interpret it.
