For the texts of the various constitutions themselves, I have used Thorp's compilation which was published by Congress in 1909. My two colleagues on the Commission to Compile Material for the Massachusetts Convention of 1917, namely, Professor William B. Munro 1 of Harvard University and Lawrence B. Evans, Esq.,2 of the Boston Bar, also Honorable Robert Luce3 and my wife, have very kindly read my manuscript and have aided me with many valuable suggestions.
