In October 2008, Donna was attacked by a pit bull and nearly died. Understandably, the attack left her extremely fearful of dogs, but that changed in August 2009. That is when she met Susie, the puppy that was found beaten, burned, and left to die in a Greensboro, North Carolina, park.
