In the stranger inside the machine who burns down everything he has built for the sake of four words and no name, and is never thanked, because no one ever learns who he was.

What Gets Built is the second novel in the Long Landing Trilogy and a prequel to the Still Point Trilogy. It is a book about what speaking a true thing out loud actually costs, who pays the bill, and why - having counted that cost down to the cent - a family chooses the open anyway.
