In Winging It, Lia Russ recounts her experiences as a young woman traveling through Japan, Thailand, India, Nepal and the Philippines in the mid-1980s. Readers can share how Lia's experiences broadened her horizons (she had never been outside the United States). The act of leaving home, where she had not been successful in school due to her dyslexia, altered her view of what she could accomplish in life and, ultimately, who she was.
