Every day of Chailey Smith's life seems to leave her in a daze. As a psychiatric nurse working for the Cookfield Police Department, her job requires her to attend all police calls involving people with psychiatric problems. One minute she's responding to a call about an eighty year old woman "sunbathing" in the rain and the next call she's hiking it up a crane to assist a person down from her high perch despite her own fear of heights.
