This book is a chronological record of modern humans and their civilizations worldwide from earliest times until the eve of AD 2000. The peoples of the Middle East and the Bible, the Mediterranean, other Eurasian and African societies, India, East Asia, and Oceania are all described as are classical philosophies in the East and West, Judaism, Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, and other religions.
