This book explores the factors contributing to intergenerational family conflict among Asian-Indian immigrant families living in the Western cultural world, particularly in the United States. Varughese Jacob indicates that this conflict is largely a product of differences in cultural values and identity, acculturation stress, and the experience of marginality. Jacob analyzes and interprets-from psychological and theological perspectives-empirical data collected from two hundred families. Then, a five-stage therapeutic model, dubbed the "Praxis-Reflection-Action" (PRA) Model, is proposed to address the unique problems faced by Asian-Indian immigrant families.
