Deconstructing the Republic argues that the recent deterioration of the 1965 Voting Rights Act is due to the Supreme Court's adoption of judicial rationalism and the politics of multiculturalism. These judicial interpositions have reversed the original goals of the VRA and corroded the Founders' republicanism by institutionalizing political identities based on illiberal conceptions of race and ethnicity.
