Circumstances caused Norman Graham to leave school and enter the workforce at the age of fourteen. At seventeen he enlisted in the Canadian army in the rank of boy. When Norman retired from the army in 1974 he embarked on a career in business. He also served on the board of directors of several large companies and made a valuable contribution to many charitable institutions in his adopted city of Brantford.
