Research on students' approaches to learning inhigher education has consistently demonstrated arange of factors influencing students' approaches tolearning. Very little literature exists on howpostgraduate students in New Zealand experience andperceive these influences. This book exploresfactors that influence learning from interviews witha range of postgraduate students in a New Zealanduniversity. Data were analysed within each case toshow that participant's uniqueness, as well asacross the cases to identify common themes pertinentto postgraduate students in general. The findingshave significance for understanding and improvingthe quality of learning of students at apostgraduate level. This book should be especiallyuseful to lecturers in postgraduate programmes, andothers interested in the scholarship of teaching andlearning in higher education.
