Seminar paper from the year 2017 in the subject Geography / Earth Science - Demographics, Urban Management, Planning, grade: A, International Institute for Population Sciences (Deemed University), course: M.PHIL, language: English, abstract: Long term morbidity diseases are our own creation. Most men are unable to resist the sedentary living environment, blind pleasure psychosis, the absence of regular sleep, leisure, socializing, taking junk food, and finally the mad march against indomitable time. Today India is facing a dual burden of communicable and non-communicable diseases where nutrition and other life style factors play important roles. Populations living in metropolitan areas are more prone to such morbidities because of environmental factor and life style. For this study, IHDS-2 (2011-12) is used, as the title of the paper suggests that six metropolitan samples are age group 15 -59 years. It is indirectly to understand the how the morbidity may affect the economic condition of the population. The total sample retained for the analysis is 11895. Percentage of female suffering from high blood pressure is higher than male are last 30 days and having diarrhoea is considered as having any short term morbidity, with the increase in level of education, the percentage of people having short term morbidity declines. Our findings indicate high level of morbidity the presence of such a high burden of the risk factors among participants of urban metro population is observed the Patients of T.B and B.P is older people. Compared to currently married people, widowed are more likely to report to suffer from short term morbidity.
