This book explores the New Zealand §experience in implementing the 1999 Clark Labour §Government partnership-based public policy for local §economic development - the Regional Partnership §Programme (RPP), with the aim to identify practice §pointers for leaders involved in the ongoing §implementation of partnership-based public policy, §and to provide input into the policy reformulation §process. A number of consistent cross regional §themes emerged from the research, including §unequivocal agreement that policy implementation via §the RPP has been a major catalyst for the formation §of regional partnerships; improved regional §cooperation and collaboration; and enhanced regional §planning. This book is of particular interest and §usefulness to politicians, policy makers and §practitioners working in the field of implementing §public policy, particularly as it relates to matters §of social and economic development.
