The texts collected in Risk in Global Communication constitute a joint project that brings together different views on the potential as well as real risks and threats that may appear in various fields of studies including didactics, linguistics, translation, philosophy, and literature. Their academic value lies in updated research in the above-mentioned disciplines, pertaining to one of the key areas of public life, namely communication in a global and intercultural context. The articles on the didactic process relate to the current teaching problems arising in the present-day classroom, in-person and online, during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research papers in the field of linguistics pay attention to the correct usage of individual words, as well as the occurrence of significant problems that the translator faces in the twenty-first century. The article written from the philosophical perspective deals with the institutional application of the discourse of the ethics of virtue, attempting to answer the question of how fatherhood may lead to the shaping of institutional maturity in platform capitalism, one of the currently disseminated business models. The literary section opens with a research paper exemplifying how children's literature offered to students at Bosnian schools may be risky for them to read. One of the texts focusing on literature highlights the analysis of a dystopian novel, a genre widely scrutinized in global times and dynamic changes bringing a new order. The last texts in this collection research a particular type of risk associated with the publication of personal document literature, so popular on the publishing market today, paying attention to the discourse in autobiography and its specific reading as well as risky communication as shown in selected mountain-travel writings.
