Anotácia knihy

Soundings is Cilla McQueen's ninth book of poetry. She uses themes which are important to her, themes of homeland and loss, colonization and displacement. She writes as a descendant of the colonized on far Scottish islands, and as a descendant of the colonizers, in exploring Richard Grenville's handling of Roanoke in Virginia. Her writing also reflects her experiences with the history and present reality of the Maori people of southern New Zealand.
