The pathologists have pretty generally concurred in ascribing this accumulation of blood to an Obstruction of some kind or Other; but they have differed upon its nature and origin; and have not been able to determine whether it be dependent upon the crasis of the blood itself, or the resistance of the vessels that contain it.
