Urinary tract infections (UTI) are considered the most recurrent pathology in hospital areas with a frequency of 45%, due to the use of a urinary or bladder catheter, with 80% being the main cause of UTI. Based on the above, the present study aims to determine the incidence of urinary tract infections associated with intermittent versus permanent bladder catheterization. A prospective and retrospective field study was carried out, with non-experimental characteristics, correlational scope and quantitative approach.
