Anotácia knihy

Knowing the properties of vibrating systems is essential to the design, control and reduction of undesirable vibrations. Given that direct measurements in some cases are dangerous or difficult, the present book aims to provide an efficient method to solve some theoretical and experimental examples using inverse acoustics so that the location and the time history of applied forces in a vibrating structure can be obtained by measuring pressure near the structure in surrounding fluid such as air or water. In order to solve these problems, a variety of different subjects such as acoustics, inverse analysis, fluid and solid mechanics, vibrations, numerical methods, regularization, optimization, conversion of analog data to digital, transmission of multiple voice data to computers, sound processing and experimental methods for estimating the damping coefficient of the air are considered. After finding location and time history of applied loads, other parameters of the system such as displacement, velocity, pressure gradient, stress, strain, reaction forces in the structure and the surrounding fluid are obtained.
