This book is devoted to complex dynamical behaviours of a class of maps (called endomorphisms) with a vanishing Jacobian and to the bifurications leading to such behaviours, or modifying them. These maps constitute models of discrete dynamic systems encountered in engineering, physics, economics and life sciences. This text aims to provide an understanding of two-dimensional endomorphisms, using fundamental notions and tools of study to facilitate reading. Among these tools, that of "critical curves" or "critical manifold" plays an important role.
