This volume constitutes the thoroughly refereed proceedings of the First International Conference on Internet of Things Infrastructures, IoT 2014, held in Rome, Italy, in October 2014. The 30 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 51 submissions. These papers, in addition to 13 special contributions from recognized experts, are dedicated to infrastructure-based solutions that will support the development of IoT services and applications in the future. IoT 2014 was collocated with three conferences: The International Conference on Mobility and Smart Cities, Mobility IoT 2014, which presents technologies for sustainable solutions to the mobility and smart cities agenda, further the Conference on Software-Defined and Virtualized Wireless Networks, SDWN 2014, which focuses on software-defined techniques for more flexible use of wireless and wireless sensor networks, and the International Conference on Safety and Security, - SaSeIoT 2014, which highlights opportunities and risks stemming from the integration of numerous distributed devices.
