Julio Le Parc setzt sich in seinem kinetischen Werk mit bewegtem Licht auseinander. Mittels mechanischer Lichtmaschinen und reflektierender Mobiles inszeniert er ein ästhetisches Spiel zwischen Licht und Bewegung. Von Argentinien wanderte Le Parc in den späten 1950er-Jahren nach Paris aus und gründete mit Gleichgesinnten, wie etwa François Morellet, die Group de Recherche d Art Visuel. Gemeinsam mit seinen Künstlerkollegen vollzog er in den 1960er-Jahren einen radikalen Bruch mit den vorherrschenden Kunsttraditionen: weg vom Bild, hin zur Dynamik und damit zu einem Prozess, der das Werk einer statischen Betrachtungsweise entzieht. Die Publikation bietet anhand der Bestände der Daros Latinamerica Collection einen umfassenden Blick auf Le Parcs lichtkinetisches Schaffen, in dem er den Raum permanent neu erschafft und wieder aufhebt, den Betrachter dabei unmittelbar in seine Gesamtkunstwerke einbeziehend.§Ausstellung: Casa Daros, Rio de Janeiro 13.10.2013 Februar 2014In his work with kinetic light Julio Le Parc makes use of mechanical light devices and reflective mobiles to present an aesthetic interplay of light and motion. In the late 1950s Le Parc emigrated from Argentina to Paris, where he and other like-minded artists, such as François Morellet, grounded the Group de Recherche d Art Visuel. In the 1960s he and his fellow artist perfected a radical break with the traditionally dominant art, moving away from the image to dynamics, and with that, toward a process that made it impossible to observe a work from an immobile perspective.
