The nursing profession, is the largest health care occupation, with more than 2 million jobs. It is also one of the 10 occupations projected to have the largest numbers of new jobs. Licensed Practical Nurse training lasts about one year and is available in about 1,100 State-approved programs, mostly in vocational or technical schools.
